Why should chicken be a major part of a balanced diet for your family? We conducted some new updated nutritional analysis on chicken to discover its key benefits.  Our qualified dietician Rosanna Brighton outlines what we discovered:

- Chicken has a low total fat content, and the greatest proportion of that fat is monounsaturated.

- Monounsaturated fats should replace saturated fats in the diet wherever possible because they lower ’bad‘ cholesterol without adversely affecting ‘good’ cholesterol. 'Good’ cholesterol is cardio-protective (protects the health of the heart).

- Chicken is an excellent source of protein. We need protein for growth and repair of body cells and should try and include two servings of foods containing protein each day.
