Reasons to love chicken!

Chicken is the nation’s favourite meat – and no wonder, when it’s so tasty, versatile, and easy to prepare.

And it doesn’t just taste great – chicken is good for you! It is lower in fat and higher in protein than red meat, and it’s bursting with nutrients, such as Vitamins B6 and B12.

Chicken also contains selenium (an antioxidant that helps the body fight against cancer) and the amino acids that produce serotonin (the hormone that helps us feel happy).

" Chicken is an important, nutritious food for any athlete – not only is it low in fat and light on the stomach, it is also packed with energy-giving protein.  And now I’m a mum, I try to make sure my little champions get a healthy, balanced diet, which includes British chicken at least three times a week. "

Sally Gunnell OBE, British Olympic champion and mother-of-three
