Roast a British Chicken Weekend
1st Weekend in March
Make sure you save the first weekend in March to celebrate the nation’s annual Roast a British Chicken Weekend.
This yearly event aims to encourage friends and family to get together, and take the time to enjoy a sociable, home-cooked meal around the dinner table.
And while you don’t need an excuse to tuck into Britain’s favourite roast, this special weekend is the perfect antidote to today’s trend of eating-on-the-go and TV dinners.
So put the date in your diary, invite family or friends and don’t forget to pick up your British chicken!
And if you fancy a roast with a twist, click here for some delicious recipes.

I really love a home-cooked meal with family or friends and if I’m cooking chicken, it has to be British. I always look for the Red Tractor and Union Jack on pack. That way I know it was produced to high standards and can be traced back to the British farm it came from.
